QUESTION: Are you part of a large company or a referral service?
ANSWER: No I am a one person operation. Once you have decided to hire me I will be the one to meet you and your fiancé’, I will answer your questions via email, text, phone call, or in person. I will be involved directly, not an assistant or booking agent.
QUESTION: How would you describe your style and approach to MCing?
ANSWER: As your MC, I act as the facilitator who ensures that everything happens on schedule. Prior to making an announcement, I coordinate with the wedding planner, photographer, and videographer to ensure that everyone is ready for the specific event, such as your first dance. In spite of the best intentions, sometimes the various events don’t happen as planed; I adapt to the changes on the spot, so that the flow of events is not interrupted. When it is time for dancing, I get everyone on the dance floor without making myself the center of attention by speaking endlessly on the microphone. It’s your wedding not mine.
QUESTION: What is the process for making the play list for your wedding?
ANSWER: Each couple is different in regards to their musical preferences and how they approach their wedding play list. Prior to finalizing their DJ, most couples have started making a list of songs they want to hear played during the course of their wedding. Some couples don’t know where to begin. I have a variety of play lists, including a general play list, first dance suggestions, a father/daughter list among others. I combine all of the lists to make your wedding play list, comprised of all the songs that you want played, from pre ceremony music to the last song. Your list is unique to the both of you as no two wedding play lists are the same. Another important part of your wedding play list is the DO Not Play list.
It’s your wedding and if you don’t like X song or Y artist, I will not play it.
QUESTION: We want to book you, how do we proceed?
ANSWER: I always meet with a bride and groom prior to sending a contract. I think it is important to meet face to face to answer all your questions and to make sure that we are a good fit for each other. Once you have agreed to hire me, I send you a contract along with my play lists and the real fun begins.
